I was invited to speak at Leeds Big Data Week to talk about how companies including Benenden are redefining the way they collect Big Data to build relationships through increased user engagement and conversion. As part of my presentation I discuss contemporary methods of data collection including ‘premium content’ and ‘freemium’ strategies.

‘Turning Mobile – Lessons Learned So Far’

I spoke at Appitized Health’s Seminar about the work we had been doing at Benenden to develop a mobile first strategy for the group. In the presentation I discussed how to develop an ecosystem for content across mobile and desktop sites and some of the challenge the team at Benenden had overcome in this area.

Using Video to Drive the eCommerce Sales Funnel

In this presentation I talked how video can be used to acquire and convert as part of the wider eCommerce sales funnel. I discuss how 1 minute of video is worth 1.8 million words and the psychology behind the use of multimedia content as part of a user’s experience online as well as providing some practical examples of how video can be used to optimise landing pages.

‘Innovation In Established Business’

It was great to speak at Corecom Consulting’s popular ITBoss Networking Event which hosts senior IT professionals from the Yorkshire region to discuss current challenges, opportunities and trends in the tech world. My presentation focused on how to overcome challenges of adopting an agile approach to delivery in organisations with a traditional change management and governance culture.
